"Promoting Quality of Life for Seniors"

ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION

WASHINGTON PARISH COUNCIL ON AGING is a non-profit corporation promoting the overall welfare and independence of persons aged sixty years and above in Washington Parish.  The Council provides social services such as homemaker, transportation, home-delivered meals, congregate meals, recreation, and Medicare counseling.  Other functions of our agency include coordinating and planning with other organizations and acting as an advocate for seniors.

Washington Parish Council on Aging is governed by a 15 member board of directors.  This board consists of members residing throughout Washington Parish.  While the primary sources of funding are provided by federal and state agencies, private donations are necessary and essential.

The Washington Parish Council on Aging will not, directly through contractual or other arrangements discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, or handicap in provision of services, program benefits, or employment.  All locations are handicapped accessible.
